Detergent orders will be delivered Thursday at the concession stand area and volunteers are needed to hand out orders during practice!!!! Please contact Derek’s Johnson if you would love to help this process go smoothly.
What a great day of football and fellowship yesterday. Thank you to all of you for creating a great atmosphere for all the kids to participate in. Many Smyrna parents were very complimentary of the park and people today.
Many of our teams will have games this coming Saturday in Mt. Juliet. That schedule will come out early next week. This will be another game with a $5 gate fee for everyone 13 and older and another opportunity to get our teams ready for the season. We look forward to another opportunity to compete and get better.
The practice schedule for next week will be determined by your child’s head coach after Monday. Monday will be a regular practice night. Tuesday night, August 7th, is the National Night Out Against Crime and it takes place in the park. No teams will be able to practice in the park that night. I believe all teams will want to make up that practice, but don’t know if it will be Wednesday or Friday. Please check with your coach at practice this week and Monday to determine the schedule for next week.
Remember there will NOT be lunches provided tonight, tomorrow or Monday nightdue to the church that provides them relocating.
We will be hosting the Jamboree next Saturday 8/11. As soon as the schedule is finalized, we will share it with everyone. Most of our teams will be playing at home. For all preseason and postseason games, there is a gate fee. The gate fee for the jamboree is $5 and is required for anyone 13 years old and up. Please be prepared to pay the gate fee upon arrival. Coaches and players are the only people not required to pay the gate fee.
Our AAA team will be playing a game this Saturday, August 4th, against West Nashville at Davidson Academy. The game will be at 3pm with a player arrival time of 1:30pm. There will be a $5 gate fee for those 13 and older for this game as well. After the game, Davidson Academy is offering a campus tour for all players and parents in attendance. The AAA coaches and players appreciate everyone who will be able to attend in support.
Please keep in mind that we need birth certificates for all first year players ASAP. We have to have them by the end of next week. Please make every effort to get them to us by handing in a copy or emailing in as a reply to this email.
We will be turning in the Laundry Detergent fundraiser order and money on Saturday August 11. Please turn in all orders by Friday August 10. You can turn in forms and funds any time to Richard or Desiree so those funds can be applied to your account if need be. All registration fees must be taken care of prior to being issued a uniform. Please take full advantage of this opportunity if needed.
We will not be able to take payments tonight during practice. Anyone who needs to make a payment tonight can see me or Richard after practice. We both practice on the Pee Wee field across from the basketball park and either of us can take care of that for you. I will have more or the laundry detergent fundraiser forms with me as well for those who may need them.
Anyone who has fundraiser money and forms they would like to turn in and have the funds applied to the account can also do that after practice tonight with Richard.
Today is also the last day to register for cheerleading. After tonight we will not be able to accept any more participants for cheer.
Thank You, God Bless and Roll Tide
Just a couple things regarding practice for Friday night. ALL TEAMS WILL PRACTICE EXCEPT BB and B. FLAG TEAMS will have their practice days. CHEER will also practice. The 5/6 year old practice will be held on the softball/baseball fields up by the football concessions stand. There is a movie night in the park taking place at our normal practice field.
Please refrain from parking on the sidewalk in front of the tennis court and skate park. Please also be sure to park in parking spaces, especially close to that sidewalk. When both of those things happen, it makes it unsafe for the kids in the park to travel through there as it is very congested and difficult to see. It also makes it a one lane area which is difficult to navigate.
It has been a great first week of practice and it only gets better from here.
Thank You, God Bless and Roll Tide

Taken from email sent from RCCT President Derek Johnson:
I know that many of you are waiting on the laundry detergent fundraiser to get started in order to help cover the registration cost, in addition to it being popular with previous customers. We will have forms available to hand out at the camp tonight and I have included a link below to download the form as well. Due to having to have $100 paid towards the registration cost before equipment can be issued, we moved the start date up. You can start taking orders whenever you like as long as you make sure those who are ordering early understand that we will not place the order until early August and will not have the product back until the middle or end of August. As long as they are OK with waiting a little longer, then it will give everyone an opportunity to get ahead of the game a little. We also want to keep it going the first 2 weeks of practice for those families that sign up once practice starts to have the same opportunity for financial assistance should they need/want it.
We will be doing the laundry detergent fundraiser 2 times this season.
This initial sale will be used for anyone who would like to cover the cost of their registration initially. Once a participant’s fees are covered, any sales above that or sales by anyone who’s fees are already covered would go to RCCT to help cover the cost of buying new helmets and the cost of reconditioning helmets at the end of the season. Every season we lose some helmets from players that either leave during the season or at the end of the season without turning in their equipment. This year we anticipate having to purchase 40-50 new helmets prior to the season to ensure we are able to provide each player with the equipment he/she needs to participate safely. While this fundraiser is voluntary, we appreciate all the people who are able to support the organization by participating in it.
The second sale will be an opportunity for you to raise funds for your team’s travel expenses to end of season tournaments, travel gear or other needs related to your child’s team. Funds will not carry over to next season. Any unused funds would go towards upgrading equipment for the following season. This fundraiser will start around the middle of October and run for 2 weeks.
For those parents that are new to our organization, many if not all of our teams will travel to tournaments at the end of the season. Possible destinations are Chattanooga, Knoxville and Panama City, FL. Once your child is set on a team, those coaches will be able to communicate with you the possible destinations and and you will be able to start planning for that. If you take a check as payment from someone, we need the cheerleader or football player’s name you’re selling for to be in the memo line.
Please plan to turn in order forms and money to either me, our Treasurer Richard Bryant or our Secretary Desiree Carpenter before or after practice in the coming weeks There also may be availability to turn them in during practice time if Desiree is set up taking registrations.
I also made one minor change to the form, so if you haven’t already downloaded it and printed it, please use this one.
